Brunching in Brixton

By 7th February 2016British

Two days, two trips to Brixton, two delicious brunches. First was Saturday at Wild Caper in Brixton Market, a small little cafe with cute tables and a nice atmosphere amongst the hustle and bustle of Brixton market. What attracted me was the promise of Clarence court eggs which along with Burford browns are my favourite; rich and bright orange- beautiful. I went for the full breakfast which was perfect and super tasty, the grilled mushrooms were particularly good. My friend and I then felt in the mood for something sweet so we shared a decadent and sugary almond croissant- yum!

Second was today- Sunday. We ventured into Brixton Village to a little place called the Burnt Toast Cafe. I decided on the Mexican breakfast special as I love me some avocado! It did not disappoint, in fact it was seriously good and I could eat it over and over again. Chorizo, avocado and eggs are a match made in heaven and may well become my staple weekend treat.

I have been to Brixton more in the last two weeks than I have in the 8 years iv’e lived in London and I have to say ill be going back on a regular basis. The prices are way below the London average and the food is interesting and diverse, the vintage shopping is dangerously good- this discovery might make me bankrupt!
